Overview
The H145 is a light twin-engine helicopter built mainly in Germany, descended from the BK 117 and first flown as the EC145 in 1999. Its high tail boom and rear clamshell doors make it easy to load stretchers, so it is a favourite of air-ambulance and police services.
The US Army flies a version as the UH-72 Lakota, and Germany's Luftwaffe uses the H145M. Figures are for the current five-blade H145.
