Overview
The Wing Loong II is a medium-altitude, long-endurance combat drone built by the Chengdu Aircraft Industry Group (part of AVIC). It looks and works much like the American MQ-9 Reaper, with a turboprop engine at the back and six pylons under the wings for missiles and bombs.
Because China sells it with fewer export restrictions than US drones, it has been bought by several countries in the Middle East and Africa, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. The Chinese air force calls it the GJ-2.
