Overview
The Mosquito was built almost entirely of wood — a sandwich of balsa and birch plywood — so it could be made by furniture factories without using scarce aluminium. With no defensive guns it relied on speed, and for a time it was one of the fastest aircraft in the world.
It served as a bomber, night fighter, photo-reconnaissance aircraft and precision fighter-bomber. Specifications are for the FB Mk VI fighter-bomber.
