Overview
The AH-1 Cobra of 1965 was the world's first dedicated attack helicopter, with a slim body and the gunner seated in front of the pilot. The AH-1Z Viper is its modern descendant, with a four-blade rotor, twin engines and advanced targeting sensors.
It is the US Marine Corps' attack helicopter, built to operate from amphibious ships, and shares most of its parts with the UH-1Y utility helicopter. Max speed shown is the never-exceed speed.
