Overview
The Y-12 is a small high-wing, twin-turboprop utility aircraft built by Harbin in China. It carries up to 17–19 passengers or light cargo and can use short, rough airstrips, making it popular with air forces and small airlines in Asia, Africa and the Pacific.
The Sri Lanka Air Force has flown Y-12s as light transport and passenger aircraft. Newer versions such as the Y-12E and Y-12F have more power and modern avionics.
